Rasberry Pis and Jetson Nanos Save the School Musical

Computer screen.

Computer Science instructor, Mike Rudolph of Heritage High School, received teacher grant money for Raspberry Pis and Jetson Nanos. The equipment allows students to combine programming with the external stimuli from things like LED lights and sensor data, making abstract concepts of computer science more concrete.

One student is using the equipment to track humidity data while another is working on using the Jetson Nano for image recognition.

The Raspberry Pi unexpectedly became a critical part of the HHS musical during COVID. A student set it up so the camera from the Raspberry Pi connected to a monitor so that the students in the music pit could see what was going on on stage, which was outside, making it much easier for them to work together.

We love hearing how the grant program is helping teachers and students!
