Play it Forward: Offset Fees for Families in Need

Arapahoe High School students perform in their Spring Musical.

Most of us can point to a team, a coach, or an activity that shaped who we are today. For some, it was the discipline of basketball. For others, the creativity of theater or the confidence built through DECA. What was it for you?

Research shows that extracurricular activities and programs are vital for student growth, inclusion, and engagement. Yet, activity fees prohibit many students at LPS middle and high schools from participating in these opportunities. Others participate, but unpaid fees place a financial burden on schools already working with tight budgets.

You can help students engage in these important activities while protecting essential resources for every LPS classroom by donating to the "Play it Forward" Fee Campaign. The campaign ends Friday, May 23, so act now to help students start the 2025/2026 school year strong.

The Cost to Participate

Many extracurricular activities and programs come with participation fees ranging from $25 to $330. Your gift covers activity and academic fees for students who need help, allowing them to participate fully and protect funding.

Your Impact:

  • You open doors for students to explore their interests, build friendships, and develop life skills.
  • You reduce the financial strain on LPS schools.
  • You send a powerful message to students: You belong here.

Every dollar raised from this campaign will go directly back to schools to cover fees and foster student belonging.

"Students need to feel that they are a part of a community to invest academically, socially, and emotionally. Not following passions because you cannot afford to goes against everything I believe education is meant to do- level the playing field and allow students to become the best versions of themselves."

-Stacey Riendeau, Principal, Heritage High School
